Step And Go Quick Overview
The Step And Go toilet stool is basically a straight ripoff of the Squatty Potty. The only difference is that the Step And Go is just slightly smaller. It isn’t quite as tall, quite as wide, quite as deep or quite as heavy. It just feels cheaper and less durable and isn’t quite as comfortable to use due to the smaller size.
On the plus side, it elevates your feet and gets you into a squatting position to poop. It’s also a dollar or two cheaper than the Squatty Potty, making it the cheapest toilet stool on the market. They also have a nice looking bamboo option as well as two sizes. They are the only retailer on Amazon to offer a 3 pack as well which is pretty cool.

Here is a quick video from Step And Go explaining their product and the benefits of squatting to poop.
As we mentioned earlier, the Step And Go is basically just a cheap knockoff of Squatty Potty. They are nearly identical in size and weight and shape. This is actually a plus as the Step And Go will save you a couple of dollars over the Squatty Potty.
However, they only come in one size, the standard 7 inch height. This is a downside if you are under 5’5″ or so. It also makes it harder for smaller children to use. The 9 inch height available in Squatty Potty for example is better in those cases, or if you have a toilet 16″ or higher off the ground.
So the advantage to the Step And Go is definitely the cost. You can buy a 3-pack of them that makes each one less than $20. That’s really a steal.
As far as the quality goes, the Step And Go is fairly durable and gets the job done. It will raise your feet and get them into an elevated squatting position for you to poop. For functionality, it works just fine.
Generally knockoffs can go one of two ways. Either they take an original and redesign it or they just copy it and make it cheaper. easyGoPro opted to take the toilet stool design pioneered by Squatty Potty and change it to make something all their own. Step And Go opted to copy Squatty Potty.
I have more respect for those who change designs over those who copy them to turn a buck. They seem less about quality and more about a financial opportunity. That’s just personal bias seeping through though.
In conclusion, Step And Go has a decent lineup and options. The quality of their toilet stools isn’t superior, but it is good enough to get the job done. And they are the lowest priced toilet stools on the market. We especially like that you can buy them in a 3-pack since many homes have 3 bathrooms that need a toilet stool.
About as exciting as a poop stool can be
Please contain your enthusiasm as you read these words. It's a foot stool made out of one piece of molded plastic, that is shaped to fit neatly around your toilet seat- and it elevates your feet to give you a more natural pooping posture. Easier poops, less stress, etc. etc.
If you are a sane person, you should be asking three questions at this point:
1. "Why not just use a $5 foot stool from Walmart?" Answer: The 'natural squat' involves your feet being shoulder-width apart, and the shape of this product allows you to do that. A cheap footstool may work 'well enough' for you though, depending on your body type.
2. "Is this better / worse than the Squatty Potty?" Probably not. Some people talk about differences in heel elevation, but... meh?
3. "Is this worth the money?" For $20-25, I would say 'yes'. Since it is purpose-built, it will fit in your bathroom better than a cheap foot stool. Don't pay $30-40 for it though. For $40 you could buy a year's supply of Metamucil, and have easier poops that way.
If you are young and/or you have no trouble pooping, you may not notice a huge benefit aside from being able to poop a little faster. If you strain a lot while pooping, or if you get hemorrhoids, etc. then you will notice a bigger difference.
Squatting also feels awkward at first, so don't pass judgement on it until you have used it for a week. Being in a full squat (even a relaxed one) engages different leg muscles, and it makes some people feel vulnerable... so you may naturally 'tense up' until you get used to pooping in that position.
When I purchased this, the name-brand version (Squatty Potty) was twice as expensive, making this a good value proposition. At the time of this review (2016), the price of the Squatty Potty has dropped considerably- so at this point it's a toss-up as to which is better.
A Comfort to All Sitters
okay, laugh. It's the sort of product that some will find amusing but the wise will find very useful. At 6'5 I have very long legs and one might think this would be of no use, my knees would be level with my chin. While that's somewhat true it does for me what it does for persons of all heights; Straightens out the bowels making it easier for the contents to come out. This is a serious piece of medical equipment and should be regarded as such. Ask your physician and I feel certain he'll suggest using it.
There are some other uses. For children just learning to use the toilet, the platform gives their legs something firm on which to rest as opposed to dangling in the air. It's equally useful for them to do # 1 in that they can stand on it and miss the seat, if it's down.
It's not expensive so if you don't find it useful, it can be sent back. If you live in a multi-person household, perhaps another person would find it useful. It's now a fixture against my fixture and there it will stay.
Toilet Stool changed my life on a daily basis!
I saw this concept on Shark Tank called the Squatty Potty. By the time I got to the phone lines by the end of the show they were back ordered. So I went on Amazon and found Step and Go for slightly cheaper. This product changed my gut health dramatically in only a few short weeks. I suffered from IBS and leaky gut. In short, I was miserable and not doing very well going into my 4th year of triple bypass recovery.
The concept is simple. We are not meant to sit on a "throne" as it pinches the colon. We were meant to "squat" and this simple apparatus provides the means to open up the colon, from the comfort of your "throne".
It took a couple of days to get accustomed to this new way of expelling but within weeks I my daily ritual was not a dread. Of course it does not cure leaky gut or IBS. I have done that since with an entire nutritional lifestyle change in the last year.
What is funny, is that every guest to my home inevitably asks what that is tucked neatly under my toilet. They only have to hear my testimonial and perhaps try it once and they are immediately sold. When I travel to visit family or friends, I actually buy them one as a "host" gift, so that I have one where ever I go. The joke is......that's all she buys for gifts......did she buy you a "Squatty potty"?
Step and Go is a catchy name, but it is unfortunate, that the term always refers back to Squatty Potty. The product is the exact same thing.
